This week’s yoga class theme is “believing in yourself” as explored through Yoga Sutra 1.20:

śraddhā-vīrya-smṛti-samādhi-prajñā-pūrvaka itareṣām
Faith, energy, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom support the journey.

Yoga Sutra 1.20 speaks to the power of *śraddhā*—faith, trust, and confidence in the path ahead.

Believing in yourself doesn’t mean you never doubt yourself. It means learning to trust your ability to meet whatever comes your way. Every time you step onto your mat, you have an opportunity to practice that trust: to listen inwardly, honor where you are today, and take the next step without needing to know exactly where it will lead.

Let your practice today be less about proving what you can do and more about remembering what you already carry within you.

Dharma Talk:

Here are a few quotes you can utilize in your Dharma Talk at the beginning of class. Be sure to weave them into your teaching throughout class and apply them to the peak pose.

Can you trust yourself enough to try something that feels challenging—not because you know you’ll succeed, but because you trust yourself to meet whatever happens?
You don’t have to be certain to believe in yourself. You simply have to be willing to trust yourself enough to begin.
